Who should be the President of Poland if you wanted Polish citizenship?
The President of Poland controls the granting of Polish citizenship and the granting of consent to renounce Polish citizenship. The procedure for obtaining Polish citizenship requires submitting an appropriate application to the office of the President of Poland. There is no provision defining the length of time it takes for the President’s office to process an application. The decision of the office of the President of Poland to reject the application is final.
Interviewers asked respondents without Polish citizenship about a hypothetical situation in which the respondent is applying or intends to apply for Polish citizenship.
